Online crime lesson (Reading)
Upper-Intermediate level

Description

In this lesson, students develop their reading skills for gist and specific information in the context of committing an online crime, based on reading a text about a virtual murder. The lesson starts with a discussion of online role-play games like The Sims where a gamer is supposed to create a virtual character and live their life. This is followed by reading a text about a woman who commited a virtual crime. After reading students should answer what the crime is. Then students read the text again and answer some True or False questions. Finally, there is a speaking practice through discussing some virtual crime related questions in pairs.
