To provide reading and speaking practices in the context of the future forms.
Procedure (37-45 minutes)
The sts will be told a personal plan that will happen over the weekend and then they will be asked about their plans so that they will use the TL and also build a connection with the context of the lesson.
They will do a matching exercise where they will discuss in pairs to determine which people will take part in which events. Due to some events having more than one answer they will be a little bit more challenged compared to regular matching exercises with one possible answer.
The students will then participate in a small group exercise where they are going to place the correct flash cards underneath the verbs given on the WB. This will also be a good mingle exercise which will be a FB among the sts.
In small groups they will later discuss a memorable get-together that they have been to and pick the most interesting one to read out loud to the whole class.
On the board there will be 3 sentence bubbles and the students will be asked to make a list of ways people can do them in pairs (seating plan may be changed if necessary) and compare with each other. May present ideas to the class after the pair work Questions on the WB: -Get to know new people -Get in touch with old friends -Meet a future partner
After that they will read a text about an article called "Getting together 21st-century style" and answer the questions written on the WB. to explain how people get together and what kind of people are suitable for each way. This will be an open exercise, sts will be able to call out answers.
They will do a brief vocabulary exercise related to exercise 3 in the reading section via "The Hangman" game on the WB. and do a brief vocabulary exercise to check pronunciation and meaning.
Finally they will do a brief discussion in small groups using the vocabulary they have learned.
