Procedure (31-45 minutes)
• put Ss into groups of three and ask them to share some info about their families. • monitor the Ss in distance • Get a whole class report and give FB
• pre teach the vocabulary in vocabulary 'exercise A' and some in the conversation, elicit and clarify MPF • ask Ss to do the vocab exercise in pairs • monitor to FB • ss check their answers • give a WCFB
• Books closed • show the picture of Isabel and her friend, explain that they're talking about their families. • project the questions in 'conversation exercise A' play the audio file. before doing the task, ask if Ss need to listen for the second time. • pair up the Ss to share their answers • Monitor the Ss to FB • give a WCFB
(Books Open) • explain that Ss are listening to another version of the audio file and write two extra sentences. • play the audio file • pair up the Ss to check their answers • Monitor the Ss to FB • Give a WCFB
• put the class into two groups: G A and G B • focus on the conversation and ask Ss to find: GA= some Qs to ask about family GB= find some examples describing family • monitor the Ss and lead them if needed • focus on the phrases and clarify MFP (meaning, form and pronunciation). for pronunciation, clarify the point in pronunciation section. if your class is weak, play the audio file for the Ss to practice more. • pair up the Ss, and ask them to do 'language booster exercise B' • Monitor the Ss to FB (listen carefully and have the errors corrected) •
• explain that Ss are going to talk about their families again, this time with specific Qs. • pair up or group the Ss into 3 and give them the task and enough time • as Ss are doing the task, monitor them quietly and help if needed • note down any errors related to the content and language of the lesson to FB • get a WC report
• explain that Ss are seeing some sentences on the board. some are true and some are false. • Ss in their pairs/groups should find them • project the sentences • give enough time • Get a WC FB and give any useful FB
