Procedure (41-43 minutes)
The teacher begins the lesson by writing two questions on the board. "what is your favorite season? and what is your favorite month?" and the teacher tries to get answers from as many ss as possible.
The teacher plays a song about the months of the year and the students write as many months as possible and compares with his/her partner. Then the teacher asks ss how many months they have written. The teacher chooses the best one and praises him/her.
The teacher teaches the pronunciation of the months and seasons by showing phonemic scripts and drilling as a whole class.
The teacher makes four groups and gives a group name( amongst the seasons) to each and then he gives a colorful blank flashcard to each group. Later the teacher gives 12 paper cut ups on which the names of the months are written to each of the group. The goups' job is to listen to the song again and number the months by sticking the names on the flashcard. when they finish, the teacher will hang those flashcards on the board and check which group(s) is/are the winner.
The teacher gives a worksheet to the ss. There are some geographical places and information about those places. The ss will read and answer some questions about the reading text in pairs. This is a reading for detail activity. The teacher will monitor the pairs closely and check their understanding and help if necessary. Lastly, the teacher will ask some of the questions by nominating some of the ss.
