Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Sing a simple greeting song to energize the students and set a positive tone.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

Picture Book: Show pictures of a shop, library, park, and playground. Storytelling: Tell a short story about a child who visits different places. Use simple language and actions to make the story engaging.

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

Point and Say: Point to each picture and say the corresponding word: "shop," "library," "park," and "playground." Sentence Structure: Introduce the sentence structure "There is a (boy/girl) in the (place)." Use simple examples with pictures.

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

"Grab the Present" game Divide the class into three teams. Each team will have a chance to send one player to grab a present from a desk. However, before they can play, they must first make a sentence that will be shown to them. Once they correctly say the sentence, they can then proceed to the desk to play. When the music starts, the player walks around the desk. As soon as the music stops, they must quickly grab one of the presents on the desk. The team whose player successfully grabs a present gets points for their team.

Semi-Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

"Ice Cream Relay" Divide the class into three teams. One player from each team will come to the front. On the desk, you'll see an "ice cream" and on the other desk, a cup with a ping-pong ball on top. When Teacher says "go," you'll have to pick up the "ice cream" and carefully transfer it to the other side of the table. Then, pick up the cup with the ping-pong ball and bring it to the other side. The team that can move both the "ice cream" and the ping-pong ball without dropping them, and finishes first, is the winner!
