Description

In this lesson, students learn about the food, currency and function for ordering food.

Materials

Main Aims

  • To provide detailed and scan reading practice using a text about Food in the context of Restaurant menu

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide practice of food words in the context of Restaurant menu

Procedure

Pre-Reading (3-5 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

Students must find the correct picture for the foods.

While-Reading (5-7 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

Students have to scan the text as a first step in order to find the food they know. As a second step, students must skim the text for the extended exercise.

Post-Reading (5-7 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

Students must do the true (or) false and gap fill exercise to make to sure they have the very good certainty in understanding the context.

Discussion • to create the evaluation area for the students for the context

Students must discuss with their friends what foods would they like to order in the menu above and what restaurants are available in their country.
