  • To provide fluency speaking practice in the context of the parts of body

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (5-7 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Start with a song (Head, shoulders, knees and toes).

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

Introduce five-seven key body parts using pictures and actions. Repeat words several times. Interactive games: 1. Playing doctor. Today I am a doctor. Let me check your ... 2. Simon Says game using body parts.

Clarification (2-3 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

Sing a song about body parts, everyone. Let's speed it up.

Controlled Practice (7-9 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

A game using a fly swatter. Lay the pictures on the floor, the child must quickly hit them with the fly swatter. CCQs: I show them my body parts and ask 'What is this?' For example "Head".

Homework (5-7 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

Draw a monster and describe its body parts. Let's do an example: I will draw a funny monster on the board, and we will describe it as a team.
