Main Aims

  • To provide gist and detailed reading practice using web page forum about likes and dislikes in the context of hobbies

Subsidiary Aims

  • 1.To provide grammar practice about using like + ing in the context of hobbies.
  • 2. To provide speaking practice about likes and dislikes in the context of hobbies

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (2-3 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Show some pictures about myself and ask students to guess my interests

Pre-Reading (2-3 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

1.Teaching block words by using pictures and applying grammar of pervious session to make sentences about those words. 2. Tell the students to look at the title and the picture of reading and ask them to make guess about reading

While-Reading (2-3 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading tasks

Ask children to read quickly and find where the children are from share their answer with each other

While-Reading (7-9 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading

Ask student to read the text again and answer detailed question shared their answer with each other

Post-Reading (3-5 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

1.Ask them to talk about their hobbies and dislikes two by two and the other one should listen carefully and talk about friend's interests in the class 2.Ask them to write a paragraph about their families' hobbies and dislikes
