Dog puppet comes. Asks for help: it needs to find something, but it can’t remember what! Maybe kids can help? Kids look around the classroom and find the cards with different pictures on them, trying to tell which letter the word begins with
The dog remembers that something it’s trying to find starts with the letter Dd. The dog gives kids a puzzle (review numbers on the bottom of the puzzle pieces). They see dinosaurs on the puzzle.
The dog finds a magnifying glass, looks on the puzzle and ask the kids what they see on it. Dinosaurs. They start with D! Kids get magnifying glasses and look for all the words starting with learned letter around the classroom. Drilling, say D-D-D- doll, D-D-D- door and other.
The dog sniffs (review senses) some papers under the desk. These are worksheets: handwriting of letter Dd. Teacher gives students some instructions.
The dog sees how kids fill up their worksheets, and remembers that it’s not a regular dog, but a detective dog and it needs to find dinosaurs’ eggs! Kids help to find the nest with eggs. They poor vinegar on the eggs and see how eggs with d-words pictures are hatching. Ask each other what they see and describe their thoughts with partner.
The dog is happy, praises and thanks students. Asks them to remind how to write Dd with their fingers in the air and say 3 words starting with sound D so they can walk out the classroom and go play.
