Present Continuous
Grade 6 (beginners) level
Description
In this lesson Students will refresh their knowledge about usage of the Present Continuous tense.
The lesson starts with revision of clothing items and their characteristics by description of a famous singer's several photos.
In lead-in part Teacher asks an open question "What are you wearing today?", followed by watching a video about every day outfit and fancy-dress costumes.
The main part of the lesson is based on the printed version of the same dialogue where Students are enhanced to find examples of verbs in Present Continuous. With the help of guided discovery they are to derive the corresponding grammar rule.
Next Students are offered to do 2 controlled exercises in the Student's Book. The production part is connected with presenting of dialogues in pairs, where Student A is a reporter and Student B is a celebrity with his/her unique look.
In the conclusion, Teacher asks one more time some concept checking questions to reinforce the understanding of the topic. Moreover, he/she gives positive feedback to the Students about their active performance during the lesson.
