Procedure (36-45 minutes)
T puts some pictures on the board in two lines (first one is positive adjectives and the second one is negative adjectives) T asks Sts "What do you see in the pictures?", "What do you think about the pictures?"
T draws a big cross between the pictures and elicits from Sts by asking "Which picture is connected to this one?" T gives each S an adjective and asks them to come to the board and attach them under the relevant pictures T shows the adjective "nice" to Sts and asks which category it belongs to
T clarifies the meaning of the words by asking CCQs T checks the pronunciation of the adjectives with Sts, models, uses finger highlighting and drills T elicits the form and sentence structure Ex: The car is new It is a new car They are friendly girls
T writes a jumbled sentence on the board and asks Sts to put it in order T shows the HO1 and Sts do the same with their partners For each sentence one S comes to the board and writes the answer T checks the answers with WC
T shows HO2 to the Sts and asks "Where are these people?" T points out to the exercise and gives the instructions Sts read the text and find whether the sentences are true or false Sts need to correct the false statements as well Sts first check their answers with their partners and then with the T
T shows Sts a picture with an information on it and asks "What do you think about my pets?" T elicits the answer from the Sts and writes a sentence on the board "I think your pets are friendly." T gives each S a picture Sts stand up, mingle and ask questions to each other and answer the questions T monitors and takes notes for delayed error correction (T plays a music to energize the Sts)
T gives the instruction and does a demo on the board for the game T rearranges the Sts in groups of three(depending on the number of Sts) Sts try to find the antonym of each adjective from the turned over cards While Sts are playing the game, T plays a music and monitors them T gives feedback on the pronunciation of the adjectives at the end of the game
