Description

In this lesson, Ss learn about the the frequency adverbs which we use commonly in our daily lives, such as always, never, usually, often,hardly ever,seldom and sometimes. They learn the meaning, form and how to use them in the sentences. Ss will also learn the placement of adverbs of frequency for instance when to use always and when to use usually etc.

Materials

Main Aims

  • To provide clarification,form,pronunciation and practice of adverbs frequency in the context of cinema

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a conversation in the context of if cinema and movies.

Procedure

Warm up/lead in (4-6 minutes) • To engage students in topic and elicit target language to introduce, to prepare students for next activity.

Teacher asks ss questions about movies and cinema to elicit the target language. Teacher writes ss response on the board, Teacher explains how we can use adverb”often” in questions to get the response. Teacher tries to elicit more adverbs of frequency by asking questions questions. Teacher writes few expressions on the wb.

Pre-Grammar (7-10 minutes) • To enable student's self learning and give them opportunity to identify adverbs from text.

Teacher instructs ss to work indvidually Teacher explains the task. Teacher demostrate the task verbally. Teacher distributes handouts of reading. Ss read the text and write down adverbs of frequency from text. Teacher asks for peer check. Teacher takes feedback

Appropriacy (5-7 minutes) • To provide students detailed knowledge about appropriacy and where to use adverbs in language.

Teacher explains the task. Teacher gives instruction. Teacher models the task. Teacher asks icqs. Ss work in pairs Ss do the peer check. Teacher takes general FB

Grammar and pronunciation (10-15 minutes) • To provide ss correct pronunciation and form of TL and to teach them appropriacy.

Teacher takes FB whole class from prevous stage and writes sentences on board. Teacher asks ss to read and pronounce TL. Teacher writes down correct form of TL Teacher writes phonemic and word stress for pronunciation. Teacher explains the next task. teacher gives instructions and checks them with icqs. teacher monitors Ss work in pairs. Ss do peer check Ss practice the language with their partners. FB whole class.

Practice of target language (10-12 minutes) • To practice the target language in the activity of mingle and to let the students relate it to their daily routine life.

Ss will be given instructions. Ss will see demonstration. Ss will be asked Icqs. Teacher will monitor and will change pairs when it will be neccesary. Ss will work in groups of three or pairs. Ss will practice TL. Teacher will take Fb.
