Procedure (43-6 minutes)
I will start the lesson with greetings and then go on by saying "Everyone has a nickname. For example I have a nickname called mücü, because my name is really long one when we compare it to the other names. So do you have a nickname? or may I ask one quesiton? :) Do you have a nickname for me? " Then, I will elicit the answers from the students whether they have a nickname or not. Does their nickname have a story?
I will divide the students into three groups. Each group will take three words to discuss the meaning of the words. Then I will elicit the answers from the groups. If one group does not know the meaning, I will elicit the answers from other groups. If noone knows the meaning of a word, I will use the vocabulary analysis. *see the vocabulary analysis
Students will complete the sentences with the words that they have learned about names. With this exercise they will take a chance to practice the vocubulary that they have learned. I will ask them to check their answers with their partners then I will give them the answer key since vocabulary is my sub aim I don't want to waste my time too much on vocabulary tasks.
I will start the record related to the vocabulary that the students will try to understand the main idea of the subject told by each speaker. Then I will elicit the answers from the students.
The students will listen to the record again. Then, they will try to match the topics with the speakers. I will elicit the answers from the students.
The students will work in pairs. The will choose two questions out of four question and they will discuss these questions. I will listen to their discussion to make later error- correction. When they finish their discussion, I will elicit the answers from the students.
I will model and drill the words that they might have problem. I will write the wrong version of the sentences and want them to correct.
