Description

In this lesson students are going to learn about different kind of drinks and liquids . they are going to talk about what do they usually drink and is there anything they never drink. they are going to listen to a nutritionist talking about what kind of liquids we should drink.

Main Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a conversation in the context of Listening to a nutritionist talking about different liquids

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (7-10 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

The students will be asked what do they usually drink? what did they have to drink yesterday? Is there anything they drink? why?

Pre-Reading/Listening (6-8 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

The students will be informed about the meaning of the following vocabularies used in the text by trying to guess the meaning of the words by looking at the pictures of the words. they will check their answers in pairs and then with the whole class.

While-Reading/Listening #1 (6-10 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

The students will listen to track and try to answer the following question: Write the drinks from the list in the correct place on the jug.

While-Reading/Listening #2 (13-16 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

Students will be asked to read the questions on page 42 and then the audio will be played again. students need to answer to 2 questions. they will have 2 minutes to check their answer in pairs then we will check the answers with the whole class.

Post-Reading/Listening (13-16 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

Students will be asked to talk to each other in groups of 3 or 4 about if they had the power to ban any drink in the world, what would that drink be, what drink would they choose
