Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (5-5 minutes) • Relating

Greetings Brainstorming about the topic of the lesson (Healthy lifestyle): Asking students: 1. What do you know about healthy lifestyle? 2. What can you do to have a healthy lifestyle? 3.What do you do or would like to do to have a healthy lifestyle? Notes: Because of students lack of proficiency the Q&A is done both in L1 & L2.

Pre-Reading (10-10 minutes) • Experiencing

1.Asking the students to open their books and listen to the teacher read the reading for them while they are looking at the text. 2. Asking students to tell what do they remember from the text either in L1 or L2.

While-Reading #1 (15-20 minutes) • Applying/Cooperating

1. Students should form 5 groups and they choose a name for their own group. 2.Each paragraph of the text (from 2-6) will be given to a group so they would read it together and they should try to write the meaning of the bolded words. 3. One student from each group will stand up and comes to the board, telling the meaning or their own comprehension of the bolded words. With each right answer they will be given a score and at the end two groups with highest score will be given extra points. Notes: They can answer in L1 or L2.

While-Reading #2 (15-20 minutes) • Applying/Cooperating

1. Handouts will be given to groups and they are told to read the text and try to find the paragraphs that are related to each statement and write the number of the paragraph for each statement. (paragraphs 2-6) 2. The groups will be told to exchange their handouts with each other. 3. The teacher chooses which group to answer each statement and groups should check the other groups handout and give it a score. 4. The handouts will be given to teacher and the group with highest score will be given extra points.

Post-Reading (15-20 minutes) • -

Telling students the meaning of the text in L1 while reading it for them

Assignment • Transferring

Ask the students to write a paragraph (more than 3 sentences) about " What do you want to do to have a healthier lifestyle?" and bring it the next session.
