Procedure (33-50 minutes)
- In pairs, students will write three things they can buy in: a newsagent, a department store, a supermarket. - Ss say which of these things they buy every week.
- In ex1, Ss will tick the words they may know in the box. - In pg.132, SS match the words with the pictures. - Ask CCQs, mention the stressed syllables and drill the words. - In ex.3a, SS focus on nouns look plural but can mean one thing. - Provide two examples and elicit the meaning. - In ex3b, SS try to find which nouns can mean one thing and which can be singular. - SS compare answers in pairs and then check answers as a whole class. - In ex.3c, SS choose the correct words. - SS compare answers in pairs and then check answers as a whole class. - In pg.132 5.7, SS check the nouns which can be plural and mean one thing, or noun which can be singular or plural. - Ask some CCQs. - in ex4, SS in pairs fill in the gaps with some, any or a. - Check answers as a whole class.
