Pre-Reading/Listening (10-12 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

Setup: Teacher sets a slide with the questions for the first reading part in which students read for gist. Task: Students are asked to read the questions they are going to answer after their first reading so that they anticipate the type of information they will have to extract from the text. It must be remembered that this first reading will be using the skimming technique.. Before the reading, they are also presented with three words that may be challenging for students of their level, words that appear in the text: Downstairs (Adj), DIY (Abbr), Polite (Adj). It is about them giving or discovering the meaning among themselves and at the end they are presented with a formal answer of its meaning and pronunciation. Feedback: Teacher talks about some important errors students could have made while discussing, only if a mistake that could be negative to the general understanding of the message,

While-Reading/Listening #1 (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

Setup: A text is prepared for the lesson, each student receives a copy. Task: Students read the questions first, then they do a first reading of the text, a quick reading through the skimming technique to try to understand the gist of the text, without going into many details. This is made so that after the first reading they can resolve any important doubts that arise and thus in the second reading they can understand much better. After the first reading, they are asked if they can now identify the main problem the blogger is having. What is the main source of noise for this person? Is he also a source of noise for his neighbors? Feedback: Teacher will discuss briefly some of the answers the students gave to the questions.

These questions will be delivered using Google forms, this way they can be discussed with the group question by question seeing the amount of students who were correct in the answer. Feedback: At the end, the correct answers are presented and there is a discussion for a couple of minutes about any question that has generated difficulties or a big difference between the answers provided by the students.

Post-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

Setup: Presentation with questions. Task: Once the reading exercise has been completed and the questions have been answered, the last part of the class is dedicated to discussing the answers presented by students.
