Procedure (35-45 minutes)
-T will put pictures of some places in a town or a city which they studied in the previous lesson on the board to elicit the names of places from sts. - T writes on the board: there is a/an.... there are some.......... there are a lot of .......... there are three........... and give one example. there is a museum in a town. - T asks sts to complete the sentences with their own examples. then asks each st to read only one example.
-T gives instructions to match the pictures and the words. (points at the picture and the words and says match) sts do matching in pairs. Sts check their answers with their partners. -T shows pictures of places in a town or city to elicit the words from sts -T writes the words under the pictures on the board. Sts drill the words. -T erases the names of the pictures and points at the picture s1 answer, s2, s3,etc. -T divides sts into two groups. Sts stand in line, T says the word, one st from each group grabs the picture.
-T writes the words which might cause a problem for them (a chemist, a chemist's, a pharmacy, square, a bus station, a bus stop and buy food in/at supermarket etc.) shows the pictures, marks the stress and drills.
-T shows the picture and says this is Susan and this is her friend Isabel. Isabel has come to stay with Susan. -T asks sts to listen to conversation between Susan and Isabel and put things (Susan's flat, restaurants, shops, trains and buses, banks) in order.T demos (writes the words on the board and shows Susan and Isabel from picture, they talk, do they talk about shops, or flat or banks ? write 1 then 2 etc.) sts check their answers in pairs. -T writes the answers on the board.
-T asks sts to read the ex. 2b, then sts listen to the conversation again to choose the correct answer. Sts work in pairs to compare the answers. -T gives out the answer-key. Error correction.
