Write the question ( What do you like to have for breakfast? ) on the WB and ask Ss to work in pairs and ask others this question. Ask ICQs if necessary . monitor and correct if necessary.
Show Ss the pictures of the two cooks and try to elicit the word (cook, chef). Tell Ss that Kevin and Andy work in an international language school and they want to make typical breakfasts for the four nationalities written on the blackboard the photo. Give Ss handouts of the same blackboard and ask them to work in groups and make a list of what they think in each breakfast using the words they learnt. Play the recording (R4.15) and tick the food and drink on their own lists that Kevin and Andy talk about. Check answers as WC
Write on the WB some sentences to show the difference between countable and uncountable nouns. ( One apple, an apple, apples.) ( one banana, a banana, bananas) (milk, milk, milk). Elicit the rule and write it on the WB. (Countable nouns can be plural). ( we use (a,an) with singular countable nouns). ( Uncountable nouns aren't usually plural). ( we don't use (a,an) with uncountable nouns). Put Ss in pairs and ask them to do (ex4 P36). Check answers as WC. Give Ss (ex6.P37) and check answers as WC.
Call on of the student to the board and make a conversation with him. ( Do you like coffee? Oh, I hate it.) ( I really like fruits, me too) ( I love sausages. Oh I hate them). Write the words ( like/ don't like ) on the WB. Put Ss in pairs and ask them to tell each other which food and drinks they like/don't like. Monitor and check pronunciation.
Show Ss a picture of your perfect breakfast. Ask Ss to take (2) minutes to imagine their perfect breakfast. ( where are you? Who are you with? What do you have for breakfast?) Ask Ss to mingle and tell each others about their perfect breakfast. Monitor and check pronunciation.
