Procedure (21-53 minutes)
- T draws a simple house on the board. - She says " It's weekend and they must think of 1 job for each room with their partners." -T gives them an example. -After, When She is sure that they all understand the instructions, she lets them work on the task with their partners. - After enough time is given, she elicits some answers from them and goes on to the next stage.
-After pre-teaching T turns on the projector and opens up the hand out. -She will later distribute the hand out. - She says " We will start from ex1." " Please match the pictures to the phrases." - After all students are done with their activity, She asks the students for answers. - She gets all answers from students. -Then teacher goes on the next stage.
- She changes the partners by giving numbers to each student. -After, ss settle down, teacher asks them which activity in exercise 1 do you do at home? which activities don't you do at home? - After hearing all the answers from ss,T saves " wash the clothes" for the last question. -She asks if we wash the clothes at home or outside? -When she elicits answers from ss, she says" If you live in the USA, You would wash your clothes outside." -Then She shows the pic of Laundromat and asks students " what do we call this place?' - She checks if the students know the name of it and give them an enough time to think. - Later, she shows the next pic about Laundromat and explains how it works briefly.
- Teacher shows the class the newspaper headline. - She says we will listen a radio show phone-in. -She explains briefly what phone in programme is. - She will ask them to find out what is today's show about? from the headline.
- Teacher says " what is the missing number?" - So, She will play the records until ....first one and pause it. - The She will ask what is the missing number "in the programme , says %60 but it is really %75.
-Teacher tells students to tick the phrases that they heard in the box. - She then plays rest of the recording. -After, the teacher will listen the answers.
-Teacher will play the recording again. - T will ask ss which person does each of the jobs and tick the column. - T tell them to check answer with their partners.
T divides the class by 4 and she tell them to discuss which housework they like most and and least. and Why they do not like it and who helps them to do it.
