Procedure (29-35 minutes)
Greeting Song: Sing a simple greeting song to energize the students and set a positive tone for the lesson. Quick Review: Review previously learned vocabulary related to food and drinks. Use flashcards or real objects to elicit responses from the students.
Picture Story: Show pictures of a family having a picnic. Ask questions about the food and drinks: What is the family eating? How much food do they have?
Vocabulary Focus: Introduce the target quantifiers (a, an, some, any, lots of) with examples. Use real objects or pictures to demonstrate the difference between countable and uncountable nouns. Explain the correct usage of quantifiers with different types of nouns.
“Quantifier Bingo” Prepare bingo cards with pictures of food items. Call out phrases like "a banana," "some milk," or "lots of apples." Students cover the corresponding picture on their bingo card. The first student to complete a row or column calls out "Bingo!"
“Shopping Spree” Divide the class into two teams. Each team takes turns sending a "shopper" to the front of the class. The teacher gives the shopper a list of items to buy, such as "a loaf of bread, some milk, and lots of apples." The shopper must use the correct quantifiers when asking for the items. The team that finishes their shopping list first wins.
“Food Diary” Pair up the students. Students take turns asking each other about their favorite foods and drinks. They should use the target quantifiers in their conversations. Encourage students to be creative and use descriptive language.
