on this stage I show the students a few pictures of famous people and ask students if they know them or if they can find a famous person they like among them in order to attract their attention to the target language
on this stage students will read a sample text (Matt Damon's biography), the students will be asked to read the text and remember three things about him then they will fill in the blank spaces with either a past simple or present perfect verb, the answers will be checked with the whole class. any key vocabulary will be discussed after they've already read the text once so they can practice the guessing technic.
on this stage I use the whiteboard to show the students the structure of a biography (it has three stages; early life, young adult and later life) the student will learn what to talk about in every stage and what tense they need to use per stage depending on if the person is alive or dead
on this stage the student will be asked to write a plan for a biography of a famous person who is still alive, they need to prepare what they need to write in every paragraph and decide what tense they need to use in every paragraph
on this stage the biographies the students have produced in the previous stage will be discussed with the whole class, special attention will be paid to the correct use of the tenses and what they need to include in every paragraph
