Description
In this lesson, students will learn through a story to retell the main events of the story in their own way and to use new vocabulary from it in context. The lesson starts with introducing the story in a fun way through showing the students a picture and asking them what they see and get from it. This is followed by a retelling by having the students act out the plot of the story. Finally, student will create their own storybook by drawing and adding text.

Procedure (37-46 minutes)
Warmer/Lead-in (5-7 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students
I will start preparing the students to listen to the story through the first two slides of the presentation. I will ask them what do they see? and try to elicit from them the aim of the story at the very begining
Pre-Reading/Listening (10-12 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible
I will play a small video about the main idea of the story and ask the students what do they understand and what do they get.
While-Reading/Listening #1 (12-15 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks
I will highlight the main characters and the detailed ideas of the story.
Post-Reading/Listening (10-12 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned
I will ask the students to practice to check understanding through questions B and C on page number 85 in the workbook.
