Procedure (34-40 minutes)
*T greets the Ss *T hangs up enlarged pictures from the text on to the board. Bus, boat, Plane, Motorcycle, Train, Car, Bicycle *T tries to elicits the new vocab from Ss. *T hangs up the new looks of the transport vehicles to elicit the ones students couldn't answer. *T teaches the unknown vocab to Ss *T drills the vocab.
*T pairs the students by drawing names out of a bag. *T hands out 7 pictures to each pair *T asks students to order the transport items from slowest to the fastest. *T clarifies the instruction *T asks other pairs to go around check their friends' order and tell if they agree or not. *T hands out the same pictures again *This time T asks the pairs to order the pictures from oldest to the most modern. *T clarifies the instruction *T asks other pairs to check their friends order and tell if they agree.
*T hands out the text and asks the Ss to read the text and order the transport vehicles from oldest to the newest numbering 1 to 7 *T asks Ss to check their answers with their partners. *T elicits the answers and writes them on the board. *T orders the pictures according to the dates on the board *T asks who got the right order from the beginning of lesson. The winner or winners are clapped.
*T hands out True or False questions and asks them to answer. *T models *T asks Ss to get into pair and check their answers after they finish *T goes over the answers
*T hands out the questionaire and asks Ss to survey each other. *T points out that they have to ask everyone *T models first *T gets the results of the survey from the Ss
*T says that they are going to play a game now. *T asks a student to get up. T hangs a picture at the back of a student *T tells the class that they can't tell their friend what the picture is. *T writes sample questions on the board Is it slow? Is it big? Is it long? Is it fast? *T points out that they are only allowed to ask 3 questions *T divides the class into two groups *the group which gets the most points is the winner
*T divides the class into 2 *T tells them that they are going to play the game Yes or No *T puts 2 chairs in the front of the board. One is 'yes' chair and the other the 'no' chair. *T gets students to stand in two lines, facing the board with the front of each line nearest to the board about 10m away from it. *T points to the picture and say 'This is a train' . The first child in each line has to run and try to sit on the 'yes' chair (if true), or the 'no' chair if not true.The first pupil on the right chair gets a point for his team. *T models *Ss play
