Main Aims
-
To provide gist and detailed reading, listening practice using a text about adverts of rooms in the context of rents.
Subsidiary Aims
-
To provide clarification and practice of some lexical words in the context of rentals.
Procedure (35-48 minutes)
I will start by using an advert in a picture flash card placed on the white board, then put them in group and ask the student to read the adverts of rooms and flats to rent in the handout and i will ask some few CCQ questions to get feed back on meaning and help them where they find it difficult
I'II put students in a group then focus their attention on the adverts of things that are very important in a room in the handout, giving them time to find the words of expressions to match the definitions. Also gives example to show the meaning of any that cause difficulty.
I'II start by eliciting some of the word the student may find difficult to understand by using a grade language to clarify the meaning and form and also drill the and marking them repeat after me. Example: Apartment, furnished, rent and lets
I'll focus student attention on the listening conversation of a lady calling for a room to rent. Then I'II try to make them listen or main ideas and ask them to match the questions to the correct answers in the handout.
The teacher commences the lesson by writing the word Rent on the WB. Then try to elicit the word by talking about a friend who is coming to live in Istanbul and will rent an apartment/room of his choice. Then put the students in pair and ask them what are the possible information or things they will like a room/flat to have before renting.
