Procedure (32-43 minutes)
I put a cookie in my box so that students can't see. I shake the box and ask: What's in my box? They will come up with guesses, Try to involve all. As they don't know the word I will give them clues: I like it. Some guesses It is brown. It is not chocolate. Then I will show the cookie and move to the next stage which is pre-teaching new words.
- Show the cookie and say: cookie many times ,ss repeat chorally and some individually. -T: I like chocolate.Who likes chocolate? The puppet answers: I like chocolate,too. Oh! Hi Lizzie ,you like chocolate, too. Good! T: I like cookies. L: Me,too. T: I have 3 cookies. L: Me, too. T: I have a pencil. L: Me, too T: I have a ball. L: Me, too. Oh! Stop it Lizzie. Now I will ask ss., distributing some items among them.eg: T: I have a pencil. S: Me, too. etc _Treating Lizzie with cookies. T: Here you are, Lizzie. Lizzie takes all of them. Lizzie! Oh, no Lizzie! Lizzie picks one and says: Thank you. T: You're welcome. Treating ss with cookies. T: Here you are. S: Thank you. T: you're welcome. Followed by choral and individual rep I'll set the scene for them and introduce the characters by labels. I'll show the enlarged pics. T: How many people are here ? Who are they? Put the pics on the board and tell them Look who has no cookie? Who has 3 cookies?
Listen and put the pictures in correct order. I'll give each pair a set of pictures. I play the audio for a second time and ask them to put their pictures in order.
I'll ask ss to listen to the audio again and this time put the speech bubbles in the correct orderwithin their pairs. Ss peer check with other pairs. WC feedback .We listen again and do it on the board.
I'll use Lizzie and a student to demonstrate the dialog.They repeat the utterances. Then putting them in groups of three and giving them the props needed they come up with sentences.
