Procedure (35-45 minutes)
I will start with quick ice-breaker rapport builder asking how was your weekend. Then I will move on to the lead-in pictures. Students will give ideas of what they see in each row of pictures and then offer a prediction about the text.
I will introduce the slide for gist reading an give instructions:"you will have 2 minutes to read the text. After reading we will answer the questions below together." time the task, and after the questions are answered simply ask follow up why? Next, I will introduce the Intensive reading slide and give instructions: "you will have 3 minutes to read the text again. I will assign you each a slide. While reading you will each drag the yellow highlights over phrases that include the word day. I will do the first one as an example." do the example then assign slides and time the task.
