Description

This lesson will provide students the opportunity to practice their speaking fluency in the context of achievements.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (5-8 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

The students will be exposed to a series of historical photos of important achievements made throughout the history of mankind to kindle their interest. They will briefly talk about someone they admire and why in BORs.

Preparation (10-12 minutes) • To provide language to students that they can use in the peaking task

The students will listen to recording 5.2 to familiarize themselves with the language associated to achievements in preparation for the speaking skills. The teacher will then use Google Slides to go over the meaning of the following terms: inspiration - someone or something that gives you ideas and motivation for doing something role model - a person who someone admires and whose behavior they try to copy Dedication - Commitment to a task or purpose. Accomplishment - A successful achievement or completion of a task. Persistence - Continuously striving to achieve a goal despite difficulties.

Speaking task (18-20 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

The teacher will provide the students the opportunity to Ss to talk about an amazing achievement) at least twice, in BORs with different peers using visual aid from a Google Site

Feedback and Error Correction (5-5 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

The teacher will correct the students' most common mistakes in OCFB
