Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide clarification of cleaning items in the context of hosuework

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (2-4 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

on this stage I show the student a few images of a house in a tidy and untidy state to attract their attention to the TL

Pre-Reading/Listening (3-5 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

on this stage I provide the students with pictures of items or verbs they need to know about cleaning to understand the listening file, first I work on the meaning by asking they students what they think a word means by looking at its picture then I work on the the form by asking the students what they think a word is (is it a noun? is it it an adjective or is it a verb?)

While-Reading/Listening #1 (5-7 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

the students read two gist questions then they listen to the audio file then they're given 2 minutes to answer then, the answers will be checked with the whole class

While-Reading/Listening #2 (5-9 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

the students are given 1 minutes to read 7 question then they listen to the audio file again and find the answers the answers will be checked with the whole class

Post-Reading/Listening (4-6 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned
