Procedure (39-48 minutes)
Teacher sticks some pictures of airport, hotel, museum, stadium, beach, bridge, river, castle and asks students to come to the WB and write which city (Prague or Barcelona) has these places. This activity will link my lesson with Kimberley's reading task.
After they finish the first task, teacher will remind them with TL, emphasizing the single and plural usages of "there is/ there are" by writing sentences about the pictures on the WB. -There is an airport in Prague. -There are many hotels in Barcelona. After that, Teacher checks the pronounciation.
Teacher gives handouts with sentences about Turkey and asks them to underline the correct word. After they finish, they check their answers with their pairs and then teacher checks the answers with WCFB.
To be provided with practice in TL, students will be divided into pairs and will be given two different pictures printed on different coloured papers. One student will tell about his/her picture by using "there is/ there are" and ask about the other student's picture. Teacher will explain the activity by doing a demo with one of the students.
In this stage, teacher is going to talk about one of her favourite city and write sentences on the board using TL ("There is a university in Çanakkale." "There is a stadium in the city center." etc.) and then ask students to prepare a presentation about their favourite cities using "there is/there are". After they prepare, teacher asks them to tell about their favourite places to their pairs.
