By the end of the lesson the students will have had the opportunity to use the vocabulary taught in order to express their favorite.
Subsidiary Aims
-
By the end of the lesson the students will have had the opportunity to revise the previously learned language by controlled practice using the contracted form "It's".
Procedure (29-48 minutes)
I will start by projecting a multi colored picture on the board and try to elicit the word "colors".
In this stage I'm going to tell them that I want them to watch a short video and during this they'll have to tick the colors that they see on the handout given.
After the video watching is over, I'm gonna take out the colored cards and stick them to the board as the students help me find out the name of the colors and show them written form of each item.
After all the cards are on the board, the next step will be to do some drilling of the vocabulary introduced and play the game "Magic Eyes", by gradually taking all the name tags from under each colored card.
The Ss will have to complete a "word search" sheet containing the targeted language.
Bring the students into a circle in front of the classroom and give to 7 students a color card, including the Joker card (a card made-out of 3 colors). Then the students will be given the instructions to pass the cards from each other until the music that I will play stops. The students that will have the cards are gonna be supposed to say the color that they have on the card.
I'm going to draw a hart on the board, pick a color card and with gestures I will say: "My favorite color is...." and then ask one of the Ss: "What's your favorite color?". After doing some drilling, I will get the students to ask each other about their favorite color.
The Ss will first listen to the song and try to do the actions that accompany the colors in the song.
