Main Aims

  • To provide practice of Modal verbs in the context of where teens can go.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Welcome Students Check attendance Talk about what we did last session Refer to the modal verbs used in the previous class

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • Grab student's attention. Relate to the main Axis and elicit modal verbs

1. project the signs of the information box. Guess the motivations behind the signs. 2. encourage students to make sentences using modal verbs

Useful Language (8-10 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

1. Explain the use of modal verbs and their different meanings through a video 2. Controlled practice: page 29 ex 1 / 3 3. Copy modal verb meanings

Productive Task(s) (18-20 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

1. Divide the class to 2 groups 2. parents who put up the signs (can create more signs) and young children who photographed and are against these signs. 3. Try to work together to find a solution that will make everyone happy.

Feedback and Error Correction (8-10 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

1. write the mistakes on the board and correct them. 2. Close the session by asking students what did we do today.
