Procedure (6-11 minutes)
Warmer/Lead-in (2-3 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students
Ask these questions from the picture: 1. What is this picture about? 2. What do you think of it? 3. Do you often go on a picnic with your family or friends? If yes, do you enjoy it? 4. What are your favourite parts of going on a picnic?
Pre-Reading/Listening (2-4 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible
Pre-teach unknown words (arrive - spot - splash - pond)
While-Reading/Listening #1 (1-2 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks
Create a list of adjectives that are used in the text. Now, choose 3 of them and use them to make sentences.
Post-Reading/Listening (1-2 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned
Now, I'd like you to write a short paragraph about your favourite activity to do at the park.
