Description

To clarify and practice questions forms in order to ask for information about family nad friends. To provide listening for detailed comprehesion practice on the topic of old friends.

Materials

Abc audi script, Questions to reorder, a quiz,whiteboard, boardmarker

Main Aims

  • In this lesson students will learn how to clarify and practice questions forms in order to ask for information about family nad friends.

Subsidiary Aims

  • The lesson will also provide listening for detailed comprehesion practice on the topic of old friends.

Procedure

Warmer/Start-up (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

The teacher will briefly talk briefly about who he thinks in his important person. Then Sts will talk in groups of two to each other about their important person/people. Then the teacher will nominate some answers and he will write them on the board to share with the WC.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

T will show the photo from page 8 for all the students nd in pairs the Sts will describe the people in as much detail as possible.

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

The T will explain the intructions before the giving the handout. Then T will provide the Sts with handout from questions in listening ex. 2 pg 8, The T will provide the transcript for the students to check thier answers.

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

The T will write some questions from the transcript and write them on the board. The T will ensure that the Sts understand the meaning of the questions or what kind of information is being asked for, is the past or present? The T will write the following gap questions on the whiteboard to eicit the Sts t focus their attention on the form; What _ you ___ at? Where ____you get that ___________ ? Where ____ you _______ it?

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

The T will ask the Sts to do a grammar exercise ex 1 on pg 9 and Sts will will check their answers by eliciting the answers from them.

Semi-Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

The T will ask the students to work in pairs but this time he will switch the students seating places by numbering them and puting them as per their numbers. The students will ask and answer questions in ex. 1 on pg 9.

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

The T will handover the class to the next T who will also be provide the Sts with a speaking practice lesson for themto learn how to find out information about old friends.
