Description

In this lesson, students learn some vocabularies about identity theft. The class starts with a conversation, reading will be covered. Finally, the class will finish with group discussion.

Main Aims

  • To provide clarification of crime in the context of identity theft
  • To provide gist reading practice using a text about crime in the context of identity theft

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a conversation in the context of identity theft

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

I start talking about topic and discuss about it

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

While speaking, I pre teach some vocabularies that is related to the topic

Controlled Practice (8-15 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

I ask two questions and they have time to talk about it ,then I get feedback.

Clarification (8-20 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

I teach new words and they repeat after me.

Reading (2-10 minutes) • To gist reading

Students have time to read the reading

Reading exercise (8-10 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

Some HOs will be given to studednts to answer based on the reading. Finally, I check.

Pairwork discussion (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

Four questions will be given to studednts. They will talk in pairs, then I get feedback.

Free discussion in group (5-10 minutes) • To have free practice

Some papers will be given to students in groups. All the students in group must read the questions and say their opinions to their friends.
