Procedure

Warmer (5 minutes) • Introduce the context to activate schemata.

1. T puts Ss in pairs. 2. T asks Ss to look at the pictures of different types of meetings and describe them. 3. T elicits examples of language used in meetings (formal, polite, requests) 4. T gives feedback. IQCs: Are you going to describe the pictures? Yes. Are you going to work alone? No, in pairs.

Listening (5 minutes) • To introduce the target language

1. T asks Ss to do exercise 1 pg 75 (Listen to the three conversations from different meetings and match them to the situations) 2. T asks Ss to circle the correct option. 3. T gives answer key. 4. T gives feedback. ICQs: Are you going to match the situations with the pictures? Yes. Are you going to circle the correct option? Yes.

Controlled practice (5 minutes) • To get Ss to use the target language

1. T asks Ss to work individually. 2. T asks Ss to do exercise 3 pg. 75 (Put the words in order to make requests or responses.) 3.
