To provide clarification and practice of past speculation in the context of a missing man
Subsidiary Aims

To give students more opportunity for fluency speaking practice in the context of missing man
Procedure (37-46 minutes)
Teacher will draw the picture of Bertrande of the previous reading on the whiteboard and asks students these questions? what is the name of the wife? what is the name of the husband? how long has her husband been missing? Teacher will give students HOs and they should put sentences in the right place based on the chart.
teacher will spot the weak areas of the grammar based on the chart/ teacher will clarify only the meaning at this stage.
teacher will give students handouts containing the a set of sentences and rules. students work in their groups find the rules through guided discovery technique.
teacher will identify the weak areas and tries to clarify the language as much as possible. at this stage,teacher tries to work on form and pronunciation.
teacher distributes handouts and asks students to do a multiple choice questions as controlled practice. Teacher at this stage gives them only a short time to do it. afterwards, the teacher will have quick feedback from students.
teacher will play a video for students and in pairs practice the target language as much as possible. this is practice for accuracy. so students will be given a series of questions to ask and they should do it as they mingle in the class. therefore teacher will mover around and monitors students noticing their errors as much as possible. Afterwards, the teacher will correct their errors.
