Procedure (41-55 minutes)
in this stage i will talk about what i did while getting ready for the class and what i saw when i entered the class.I will use the verbs that the students learned or heard in the previous lessons. e.g. i got a phone call when i was wearing my coat when i opened the door i saw you laughing
in this stage i write this sentence on the board (i was coming to class when i saw/heard .....) The first example will be given by me and then i will choose some students or ask them to volunteer and talk about the things they saw or heard while coming to class.
in this stage i will write the highlighted sentences that the book provided in the grammar part on the board.I will also write one or two sentences that i said at the beginning of the class.
in this stage to clarify the meaning i will draw a time line on the board and i will involve the students by asking CCQ questions e.g.( when did these actions happen? past, future or present?past. In this one sentence, how many actions( tenses) are there? 2 are the actions finished? no ) Then by the help of my students( inductive) I will write the structure of each sentence. Some new verbs and parts of the sentences on the board will be drilled by the whole class and some individuals.
i will ask my students to do the exercise b on page 129 in the grammar bank. I will tell them to get help from their classmates if they have any problem answering and then check their answers with each other, after that I will check the correct answers by the help of my students.
in this stage i will ask my students to listen to an audio( page 14, file 41) and make a sentence according to the book using past continuous and past simple in pairs. And if there is time, some of the sentences that my students made will be drilled by the whole class.
